Alexa's 1st communion

The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ?
The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
1 Corinthians 10:16-17

Sunday was a big day at The Seidl Household. Alexa has been preparing for her first holy communion all year and it was finally here. All the hours sitting at retreats and practices were worth the look on Chris's face as she walked down the stairs.

It was almost like a quick glimpse into her future--what she might look like as a bride down the road. Who knew a child's first communion could be just as emotional as a wedding? :-)

Alexa knew she wanted a very simple dress---no beading, lace, etc. It took a while to find, but I think her dress fit her personality perfectly.

I didn't think she needed a veil, but we borrowed one from Anna and Abby just in case and I'm glad we did. It definitely was the perfect touch.

I could tell she was nervous. She asked everyday about 'how many more days until first communion'. We practiced the bow, hands, Amen, sign of the cross, repeat...in our living room one night.

Everything went great on Sunday--she did everything perfect! We had the family over for walking tacos, pasta salad, fruit, and cake. It was a great way to celebrate Alexa's First Communion.

I  love this picture of the girls and I. More of the entire family will be coming!
